Dr. Roberts completed his undergraduate work with honors from University of California at Berkeley where he also received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1980.

He has completed internship training at various specialty clinics dealing with ocular pathology, pediatrics, contact lenses, and low vision. Dr. Roberts has co-managed laser refactive surgeries since 1995.

In addition to practicing at his main office in Lake Forest since 1980, he has also practiced internationally being awarded his license in Western Australia in 1982 with membership in the Australian Optometric Association.

After legislation was enacted to expand the scope of practice for California optometrists to include treatment of eye disease with pharmaceutical drugs, Dr. Roberts completed an academic course in Ocular Therapeutics at the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry in 1996, and is Board Certified by the State of California to use therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye disease.

Besides his professional qualifications, Dr. Roberts learned a good deal of mechanical knowledge about the optical field from his father, who was an optician for 40 years, and worked with him for 10 years until his father retired in 1988.

Dr. Kirk Roberts lives in Orange County with his family. His outside interests include golf, snow skiing and classic old movies.
